Paul is a Partner in the Finance and FinTech team in the Cayman Islands, with over 12 years’ experience gained at Allen & Overy in London and New York.

Paul advises on all aspects of tokenization, decentralized finance and blockchain projects in the Cayman Islands, throughout the transaction lifecycle. Paul specializes in providing clients with transactional structuring advice, including the integration of funding sources, whether on-shore or off-shore.

Paul is an expert in structured finance and debt capital markets, and particularly in the onshore and offshore legal and regulatory aspects of structuring US collateralised loan obligations (broadly syndicated and middle-market), fund financing, warehouse financing and EU/UK securitisations. Paul has advised leading arrangers, initial purchasers, funds, investment managers, lenders, investors and trustees on structured credit, securitisation and funds and on the regulatory requirements of structured finance transactions, including the regulation of residential mortgage securitisations in London and EU/UK risk retention issues in the US.

Paul was listed in the Legal 500 (2023) in the US as “Outstanding.”

Transactions of note include advising a significant U.S. investment bank in respect of its investment in European non-performing loan transactions, advising a major North American investment bank in respect of various aspects of multiple high-yield credit facilities, including the funding of various U.S. based business development companies, advising HM Treasury in respect of the disposal of the UK Government’s residential mortgage loan book, establishing one of the first online mortgage lending platforms in The Netherlands and advising a significant US investment bank in respect of EU/UK risk retention requirements.

Paul regularly contributes as an author to the Chambers and Partners Global Practice Guides, including most recently Securitisation 2025 – Cayman Islands (Law and Practice) and Fintech 2025 – Cayman Islands (Law and Practice).
