Gaela James trained with Sidley Austin LLP in their London office and thereafter worked with an international law firm headquartered in Washington, D.C. Gaela James was admitted to the Cayman bar in 2011.

Gaela is qualified in the Cayman Islands, England & Wales (non-practising) and New York (non-practising) and is a member of both our highly experienced global funds and fintech teams and provides specialist advice to onshore counsel, investment managers, operators, platform providers, developers and service providers on matters of Cayman law.

Gaela advises on the establishment, operation, regulation and governance of hedge, private equity and venture capital funds and on a full range of web3 matters, including venture investments in digital assets, web3 investment funds, digital token issuances and the use of foundation companies in the web3 space.
